Listen to Today's Word
Scripture: Matthew 9:36 "He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered."
Meditation: Jesus' ministry flowed from compassion, not obligation. When He saw the crowds, He did not look at them with judgment or indifference. He saw people who were weary, troubled, and in need of guidance, and His heart was moved with compassion for them.
True evangelism begins with a heart that genuinely cares about people. It is not simply about sharing a message; it is about recognizing the value of every soul and desiring that others experience the love, hope, and salvation found in Jesus Christ.
The more you love people, the more naturally you will desire to reach them. Compassion helps you look beyond someone's background, mistakes, or circumstances. It moves you to listen, pray, encourage, and share the Gospel with patience and kindness.
Ask God to give you the heart of Jesus. Let your concern for others go beyond feelings and become action. Look for opportunities to show His love and introduce people to the One who can transform their lives.
Ask God to fill you with compassion that acts.
Reflection:
- Let compassion move you from feeling to action.
When you look at the people around you, do you see their needs with compassion? What practical thing can you do today to show someone the love of Christ and share the Gospel with them?
